About

About Spring of Dignity International

Who we are

Spring of Dignity International is a humanitarian and development organization founded to empower marginalized children and their families. We are being established in the United States as a nonprofit corporation and are pursuing recognition as a tax-exempt public charity.

We are faith-rooted and operationally inclusive. Our founders come from the Muslim diaspora and bring decades of professional humanitarian experience across the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia. Our services, our partnerships, and the communities we serve are non-sectarian. We work with anyone in need, alongside anyone who shares our purpose.

Our Mission

To empower marginalized children and their families, including orphans, widows, single mothers, malnourished children, and children with disabilities, to achieve dignity, self-reliance, and well-being through integrated programs in livelihoods, health, education, and protection, delivered in the United States and internationally.

Our Vision

A world where every vulnerable orphan,  child and family has the opportunity to thrive with dignity.

What guides us

Our Values

Dignity

We treat every person we serve as a partner, never as a statistic.

Trust

We are transparent, accountable, and honest in all that we do.

Accountability

We measure our work and report it truthfully.

Partnership

We work with communities, not above them.

Evidence-Based Practice

We follow what works, guided by data and humanitarian standards.

Why we exist

The international humanitarian system is global in scope, but it is not yet global in voice. The majority of people who depend on humanitarian aid live in communities whose perspectives remain under-represented at the forums where standards are set and resources are allocated.Spring of Dignity International was founded to help close that gap. We bring an authentic, community-rooted perspective to humanitarian practice, we amplify the voices of the people we serve, and we connect diaspora generosity with international standards of quality, safeguarding, and accountability.

Our Commitment to Standards

Spring of Dignity International is committed to operating in alignment with the Core Humanitarian Standard, the Inter-Agency Standing Committee guidelines on protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the highest standards of nonprofit governance and financial accountability.

Our Stage

We are honest about where we are. Spring of Dignity International is a new organization. Our governance, programs, and partnerships are being built now. What we bring from day one is the deep humanitarian experience of our founders, a clear mission, and a commitment to doing this work with integrity. We invite you to be part of building it.

Governance

Spring of Dignity International is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for the organization's mission, integrity, and accountability. The Board operates with a majority of independent directors and maintains committees for finance and audit, governance, and safeguarding.
Our Board is currently being formed. We are recruiting experienced, independent directors from the humanitarian, development, finance, legal, and community sectors. Leadership and Board information will be published here as these appointments are confirmed.
