Spring of Dignity International (SDI) was founded by humanitarian professionals with more than fifteen years of senior field leadership across the Middle East and North Africa, East Africa, South Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Our founders have led country programs, regional portfolios, and emergency responses in some of the most complex operating environments in the world. Their field experience spans Yemen, Ukraine, Greece, Turkey, Kenya, Ethiopia, Gaza, Jordan, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the United States.
Across their careers, our founders have helped steward a combined portfolio exceeding $300M in humanitarian funding from donors including the United States Government, PRM, ECHO, FCDO, GIZ, BMZ, SIDA, DANIDA, and foundations based in the Gulf. This experience covers the full program cycle: needs assessment, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and donor accountability. It is the foundation on which SDI's systems and standards are built.
SDI was co-founded to create a platform that gives our beneficiaries a path to personal dignity and ownership of their communities through evidence based practice. For us, evidence based practice means that every program decision is grounded in three things: verified data from needs assessments and field research, proven approaches documented in humanitarian standards and sector evaluations, and the stated priorities of the communities themselves. We do not design programs on assumptions. We design them on what the evidence shows works.
Our model starts at the ground level. We identify needs directly with communities, not for them. We then leverage the reach and resources of international programs to respond. Through this approach, SDI ensures that relief, training, and opportunity reach those in need, and that the people we serve remain the owners of their own recovery and development.
